Unlike hollow paper-mâché crafts, these paper clay dolls are solid and sturdily constructed. While preserving the natural, pure white color and texture of the paper, colors are added using earth pigments, and patterns are applied with a heated branding iron. Each piece is individually kneaded and shaped by hand, not by molds, ensuring that no two are exactly alike.
