Loewe is the shop owner's favorite brand, but personally, I feel the leather quality of the brand's recent new products has declined somewhat. Perhaps it's due to a shift in market positioning and the addition of many new elements. New products tend to have thicker leather. Once you've touched an older piece, you'll understand. The texture of new products is completely different from that of vintage pieces from past eras. The Nappa lambskin from the old days was truly as smooth as a baby's skin (I sound like a pervert...|||||), but it was genuinely soft, light, and thin, so light that it felt like no burden at all when used! When I first started buying pre-owned bags, I was worried about encountering fakes. However, a Japanese pre-owned store told me that Nappa lambskin products are impossible to fake. You can tell the authenticity just by touching the leather; the lightness and softness are something that artificial or synthetic leather cannot imitate! In fact, the bags I use most often for daily work are usually LOEWE. I save the beautiful bags for holidays. This is because Nappa lambskin is so soft, light, and thin, making it feel weightless when carried! For daily work, where you carry a bag for extended periods, the bag's own weight is crucial. Otherwise, after a long day, you still have to carry a heavy bag... LOEWE NAPPA bags are definitely a discreet choice that is practical yet understated. Their designs from earlier eras were mostly very low-key and subtle. The vintage designs are very suitable for commuting. Usually, they only feature the brand name, with a small or large logo placed at the corners. This is vastly different from the designs of current new products. This particular bag is the predecessor to the recently popular Flamenco "lucky bag." It's a version with tassels. However, most processes today are now done by machines and then assembled by hand. Machine-made parts lack the same level of detail. The most direct way to see this is by comparing the true monogram patterns of vintage pieces with the replicated monogram patterns of recent collections from various brands. The level of detail in the monogram patterns alone is completely different. If you love monograms, you should definitely look for pre-owned items! Truly! In terms of style, older eras featured more ✦ simple, timeless, and enduring designs. Many new products today are actually remakes of older styles. However, new products are priced higher than older ones. Furthermore, new designs are typically based on older styles with additions or modifications. Ultimately, the designs become more complex than those of older pieces. I believe as we grow older, we all come to understand one thing: the simpler, the more enduring! The quality of raw materials in older pieces is also better than in new ones. Anyone who understands ✦ leather can see that the materials used in new products are mostly of a lower grade than those in older pieces. This is mainly because the cost of high-quality raw materials is too high and their availability is scarce today. Additionally, many brands had very high standards for their finished products back then. The difference between new and old can be most easily seen in the ✦ hardware. The hardware on many new products oxidizes and changes color after just a year or two of use, but this is rarely the case with older pieces. So, even Vintage bags produced as early as the 1960s or 1970s still have sparkling hardware today! This is based on personal experience; I regret not getting into certain collections earlier... I can no longer find them, and even if I could, the price is astronomical, making them unaffordable... As an extra gift with pre-owned bag orders, I include leather care oil (ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ). I use it myself, so I portion it into small containers as a gift. Apply a small amount to the genuine leather for cleaning and to add moisture, but you don't need to apply it every time you use the bag. Just periodically.
