**About the Jade Carving Artist**
Born in Fangyuan Township, Changhua County in 1973.
Began learning jade carving in Taipei in 1988.
Studied advertising design in vocational school in 1993, integrating design concepts into his work.
Established his own studio in 1994.
2000: Awarded an honorable mention in the Crafts category at the 14th Nan Ying Art Exhibition for his work "Waiting for the Opportunity."
August: Participated in a jade exhibition at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall.
2001: Invited to the Hualien International Arts Festival for live carving demonstrations in the local creation zone.
2002: Selected for the "Dream of Craftsmanship" award at the 10th Taiwan Craft Design Competition. January: Participated in a jade exhibition at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau.
May: Exhibited in the "Flowers and Trees Carnival" in Changhua County, showcasing jade carvings alongside Luo Xi stone inkstones.
October-December: Invited by the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Foundation and Hualien Cultural Affairs Bureau for the "Grand View of Stones" exhibition, held at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department stores in northern, central, and southern Taiwan.
2003: Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute to exhibit works such as "Lotus Ecological Scenery" at the "Taitung Local Crafts Exhibition" in the Presidential Office.
2004: March-June: Featured in the "Art and Culture Corridor - Xie Zhong-Ren Jade Carving Exhibition" on National Education Radio.
Selected for the "Dream of Craftsmanship" award at the 12th Taiwan Craft Design Competition.
October-January 2005: Solo exhibition at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.
2005: Invited by the National Taiwan Museum to exhibit his work "Taiwanese Snacks - Braised Pork Rice."
June-September: Participated in an exchange with the National Museum of the Czech Republic for the "Sherlock Holmes Exhibition," showcasing "A Thousand Faces of Sherlock."
Established the brand "Yu Ning Shi" and opened a counter in department stores.
Mid-December: Exhibited at the Pacific Sogo Department Store's "Craftsmanship Masters" exhibition.
2007: Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute to participate in the "Craftsmanship Up Close - Applied Crafts for Daily Life" exhibition at the Executive Yuan Gallery.
2008: His work "Japanese-style Sushi" was selected for the "Taiwan Craft Competition" organized by the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute.
2012: Received an honorable mention in the Traditional Crafts category at the "Taiwan Craft Competition" by the Ministry of Culture and the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute for his work "Half Thought." Also received an honorable mention in the Crafts category at the 21st Tainan City "Nan Ying Award" for his work "Serene Mountain Landscape."
2013: Exhibited at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall in the "Gathering of Jade Carving Masters from Across the Straits," invited to display in the Taiwanese Jade Masters section.
2016: Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit at the Presidential Office Gallery as part of the "Gathering Around the Hearth - Sustainable Craft Exhibition," showcasing three works: "Japanese-style Sushi," "Handmade Mochi," and "Leaping Moment."
2017: His work "Lingering Lotus in Spring" received an honorable mention at the Taoyuan City Taoyuan Art Exhibition.
2018: Held his solo exhibition "Xie Zhong-Ren Jade Carving 30 Years - The Continuation of Culture" at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall.
2019: January-June: Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit his work "Auspicious Dragon Bestows Blessings" at the Presidential Office Gallery's "Feast · Happiness" exhibition.
2020: "Joyful Heart, Brilliant Art - Taiwan Craft Development Association Boutique Exhibition" was jointly held at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau (July 29 - August 16) and the Taipei Contemporary Craft Design Branch of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (October 6 - February 28, 2021).
2021: His work "Japanese-style Sushi" was exhibited at the "Creative Regeneration Green Craft" exhibition organized by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (October-November).
His work "Handmade Mochi" was selected for the 2021 Taiwan Craft Competition and toured at the Taipei Contemporary Craft Design Branch of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute, as well as Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Store, Tainan Ximen Store, and Taichung Store.
