He is an artist who does really detailed and careful work, including hand-carving and finishing paint. Miyazaki's popular scooping wooden spatula is made from three different types of wood. The wood species are teak, cherry, and ash, from the left in the second and third photos. Teak is dark in color, cherry is slightly reddish, and ash is whitish in color.
