Thank you. White Lion, Cactaceae family, genus Parodia, scientific name: Notocactus buiningii, also known as Parodia buiningii. Native to northern Brazil and southern Uruguay. Young plants are spherical, growing into columnar shapes as they mature. Older plants typically develop more ribs. The color is a pale or emerald green. Mature specimens have clusters of white hairs at the growing tip and readily form offsets, creating a multi-headed cluster. The areoles, when viewed from above, are arranged in a beautiful, regular circular pattern. Roots: Fibrous Spines: Central spines 0-1, radial spines 4-8, usually 6. The base of the spines is deep red. Rib Count: 8 to 24 ribs, with older plants generally having more. Flowers: Petals are goose yellow or yellow. Flowering season is typically spring to summer. Cross-pollination is required. The pistil is pink or red. | Sunlight | Dislikes direct or intense sunlight. Recommended to provide over 50% shade, suitable for full or partial sun. | Environment | Cacti generally prefer well-ventilated environments. | Soil | Use a well-draining medium. | Watering | Spring and autumn are growth seasons.
