It is made from the shoulder of steer (adult cattle), a limited area from each animal, making it known as a rare and luxurious leather. Crafted using traditional vegetable-tanning methods passed down through generations in Tuscany, and dyed with natural colorants derived from flowers and bark, it offers a wonderfully rustic and warm, authentic leather feel. However, the greatest allure of Buttero leather is undoubtedly its beautiful "patina development" over time. Because the fibers are densely packed, the slow addition of plant-based oils allows the oils to gradually emerge on the surface.
