Vegetable-tanned leather is known for its firm and durable texture. The surface color gradually darkens. Furthermore, the natural oils from your hands and the friction from daily use create a lustrous patina. This allows leather goods made from vegetable-tanned leather to develop unique transformations that reflect the passage of time and the user's habits. Consequently, farmers do not pay special attention to protecting the cattle's skin. During their lives, cattle may experience insect bites, scratches, or punctures. Free-roaming cattle might also bear branding marks. As they grow, they develop natural lines and wrinkles. In cases of difficult births, a mother cow might have surgical scars from a C-section. When the cattle are eventually processed for meat, the skinning process can also result in knife marks. These marks are faithfully preserved on the leather when it's transformed into cowhide, serving as proof of the animal's life journey. Therefore, this service cannot be applied to dark-colored leathers such as black, dark blue, etc. ▴ Some items require laser engraving before production. For ready-made items, laser engraving cannot be applied, and a separate production schedule will be arranged. Please contact customer service in advance to inquire about production times when selecting this service. 🌞 Care and Maintenance -------------------- Frequent use is the best form of maintenance. Avoid storing leather in humid environments. If the leather accidentally gets wet, wipe it immediately with a dry cloth and allow it to air dry in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do not expose it to direct sunlight, as this can cause the leather to harden and deteriorate. Once dry, you can apply leather conditioning oil to replenish the leather's oils. You can also spray a waterproofing agent onto the surface to protect against accidental spills and enhance surface protection. If the leather item needs to be stored or will not be used for an extended period, place it in an electronic dehumidifying cabinet with humidity controlled between 50% and 60% to prevent mold. Alternatively, a sealed bag with a desiccant pack can achieve the same effect. Cowhide is not excessively processed or coated with heavy surface finishes, so there may be slight variations in color, texture, and minor scratches. If you require a perfectly flawless leather surface, it may be difficult for us to accommodate your request, and we do not accept orders based on the demand for a "flawless leather surface." Additionally, once lettering or laser engraving has been applied, returns will not be accepted unless there was a production error.
