Broken or chipped ceramics that are no longer in use are upcycled and transformed into accessories with Kintsugi. These are elegant earrings adorned with freshwater pearls, set against deep green pottery fragments. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, allowing the gold to shine through from any angle and adding a touch of sophistication. This work uses a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional Kintsugi which uses natural lacquer derived from the sap of the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for the primary bonding.
