A *mame-bachi* is a small bowl, shallower and smaller than a typical rice bowl. It can be used as tableware, a decorative piece, or a small bowl for tea. The five cats are: 1. Nora (野良): In Japanese, this refers to a stray or feral cat. 2. Mike (三花): A cat with black, white, and orange markings. 3. Hachiware (黒白): A cat with a facial pattern where the fur divides from the forehead down the sides, often called a "Mercedes cat" in Taiwan. 4.
