What is the wood firing process?** American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay are kneaded in different proportions. The creation process is purely hand-built (not on a pottery wheel) and slowly takes shape. After basic forming, the lines of the piece are refined, then polished to complete the greenware. Once placed in the kiln, it undergoes a continuous five-day, four-night wood firing process using natural longan wood and acacia wood. The temperature rises to over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the work, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the flame patterns within the kiln flow between the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple flame marks. After five days and four nights of ash and flame interaction, a week of cooling is required for each piece to achieve its beautiful form! What should guests be aware of?** Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. The pieces are entirely handmade, so they will retain traces of the handcrafting process. There may also be slight variations due to the firing process; imperfections such as slightly uneven rims or minor production scratches are normal and do not affect usability.
