Theme: "Elegy" A heart that wants to sink. Words that want to be hidden. A wind that brings tears to my eyes. Away from the sun, in the shadows. The shape you see as you gaze upon the air in the faint light that shines through, with fine dust floating in it. ------------------------------------------------------------- The theme of the first release on the OTUTUMI online shop is "Elegy." It gives shape to what the designer feels is the present. Everyone has some feelings of sadness or pity that they keep to themselves and don't talk about with anyone. This inner feeling is expressed in the song "Elegy" (which in Japanese means lament, elegy, or dirge). In Japan, black Mizuhiki is usually used on condolence envelopes and does not see the light of day for auspicious occasions. However, this time I deliberately used only black and created a shape that is felt not through "color" but through "light" and "shadow." It's large but very light. It expresses a sad yet unbroken circle of emotions. Please see the FAQ for information on handling Mizuhiki.
