The Desert Rose is native to arid desert regions and can withstand extreme heat. When temperatures are too low or water is scarce, Desert Roses will shed their leaves and go dormant. Proper pruning can encourage branching and flowering. You can prune Desert Roses when their branches exceed thirty centimeters, typically once every two years. | Sunlight | Desert Roses require abundant sunlight. Insufficient sunlight will cause the plant to become leggy, weak, prone to disease, and less likely to flower. However, seedlings or newly repotted plants should not be exposed to direct, harsh sun. During hot, dry summers, provide slight shade (25-30% light reduction) during midday. | Watering | In the warmer summer months, water approximately every 1-2 days.
