We create gentle, natural soaps inspired by the stories, seasons, and local life of our hometown. Each bar is crafted with care — not only to cleanse the skin, but to share a quiet warmth from our small home to yours. 🌿 Ma Yei – Herbal Handmade Soap Story & Inspiration This summer-limited soap was inspired by a beloved local delicacy from Taichung’s traditional markets — Ma Yei Soup, a refreshing green soup made from jute leaves. Long ago, Taichung’s Nantun area was known for its huang ma (jute) industry. Jute fibers were used to make ropes and sacks that carried the city’s goods — a symbol of the hard work and vitality that built the region. The tender jute leaves, called Ma Yei, are the essence of this story. Locals would boil them with sweet potato chunks to create a mildly bitter yet comforting soup — a flavor deeply rooted in Taichung’s summer memories. Rich in polyphenols and vitamins C and E, Ma Yei was once a nourishing dish lovingly prepared by mothers and grandmothers to replenish their families’ strength. At Small Home with Love, we cherish our Taichung roots — a land that nurtures both life and creativity. Inspired by the story and flavor of Ma Yei Soup, we infused fresh jute leaf juice into our handmade soap, decorating each bar with orange-hued pieces reminiscent of sweet potato chunks made from our “Clockwork Orange” soap. The result is a refreshing, naturally cleansing bar perfect for hot summer days — gentle on the skin and kind to the earth. Because the plant only thrives in summer, this soap is available only during the season. How to Use｜ ① After use, keep the soap dry on a draining soap dish to prevent softening. ② For a richer lather and longer use, pair it with a bath sponge or foaming net. ③ We recommend rotating between 2–3 bars at a time to help each soap dry completely.
