Manushi that is "energetic woman", was established in 1991 to help disadvantaged women in Nepal based local poverty. Promote the development of the social status of women, while the margins of society through the arts and crafts and small enterprises to have the opportunity to develop. In addition to handicrafts and marketing, Manushi also provide measures of community development, such as technical training and microfinance. Currently about 90% of the producers are women, mostly grass-roots communities, such as widows, homeless or in need of help. Although Nepal's Constitution gave women the opportunity to speak, but in fact women and men in the local community the opportunity to relatively still very small.
