Vegetable-tanned leather is known for its firm and durable texture. The surface color gradually darkens. Combined with the natural oils from the user's hands and the friction from daily use, it develops a lustrous patina. This allows leather goods made from vegetable-tanned leather to transform uniquely with time and the user's habits. Therefore, farmers do not meticulously protect the cattle's skin. As a result, during their lives, cattle may sustain insect bites, scratches, or punctures. Free-roaming cattle might also bear branding marks, and as they grow, their skin develops natural lines and wrinkles. In cases of difficult births, a mother cow might have surgical scars. During the process of slaughtering for meat, skinning can also cause knife marks. These marks are faithfully preserved on the leather when it's transformed into cowhide, serving as a record of the animal's life. The resulting text will appear as a burnt black mark. Therefore, this service cannot be applied to dark-colored leathers such as black, dark blue, etc. ▴ Some items require laser engraving before production. For ready-made items, laser engraving cannot be applied, and a separate production schedule will be arranged. Please contact customer service for production timelines when selecting this service. 🌞 Care and Maintenance -------------------- Frequent use is the best form of maintenance. Avoid storing leather in humid environments. If the leather accidentally gets wet, wipe it immediately with a dry cloth and let it air dry in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do not expose it to direct sunlight, as this can cause the leather to harden and deteriorate. Once dry, you can apply leather conditioning oil to replenish the leather's oils. You can also spray a waterproofing agent onto the surface to protect against accidental spills and enhance surface protection. If the leather item needs to be stored or will not be used for an extended period, place it in an electronic dehumidifying cabinet, maintaining humidity between 50% and 60% to prevent mold. Alternatively, use a sealed bag with a desiccant pack for a similar effect. Repairs and maintenance can be done at our store. Excluding human-induced damage, no repair fees will be charged. After one year, free leather maintenance services will still be provided, while repairs will incur a partial labor and material fee. 5. Our studio prefers natural leather materials. Cowhide is not excessively ground or coated with heavy surface finishes. Therefore, slight variations in color, texture, and minor scratches are inherent. If you require a perfectly flawless leather surface, it may be difficult to meet this expectation, and we regret that we cannot accept requests for "flawless leather surfaces." Furthermore, once personalized with engraving or laser carving, returns will not be accepted unless there was a production error.
