Kiln-Fired Ash Glaze - Natural Appearance Red brick raw material: Natural clay contains minerals. During the firing process at temperatures below 1,050°C, the high-temperature kiln firing results in variations in hue – darker, lighter, or reddish tones. Wood-fired ash glaze may also create natural white or black spots, contributing to an antique aesthetic. "Stone popping" can also create natural color variations, all of which are normal kiln-fired phenomena.
