While minor impacts are generally harmless, it's best to avoid them (e.g., dropping it on the floor). The clasp at the end of the chain is a C-clasp. Pulling it forcefully can enlarge the opening and cause it to loosen. Please do not pull forcefully. Occasionally, you can open the bottle cap to air it out. For example, after every 4-5 uses, open the cap to allow the inside of the bottle and the cap to dry completely. This will extend the life of the cork stopper.
