Product description and story: Anping, Tainan, is a settlement with rich history, humanities, and architecture. In the early years, due to the dense population and the small building area, the houses stood next to each other. In order to resolve the taboos of Feng Shui, the local residents decorated the houses with many evil spirits. The most common one is "Sword Lion". Its functions of praying for blessings, warding off evil spirits and suppressing evil spirits have been passed down to this day and have become a unique cultural symbol of Anping. This design uses the image of Anping Sword Lion as the starting point of the concept, and transforms the meaning of "repelling and protecting" into a cup cover design that protects the hygiene of drinks. This product is both fun and practical. The Anping District in Tainan is a region filled with rich history and culture. One of its most highly representative relics is the “Sword-Lion,” whose function to ward off evil spirits with blessings continues to be called upon today. It has since become a unique symbol for Anping. This design invokes the Sword-Lion's inherent meaning of “expel and protect” and infuses that into concepts for cup lids, whose function is to protect the hygiene of beverages. Furthermore, the sword in the Sword-Lion's mouth becomes a stirring rod for the cup. This enables the product to attain both an interesting and rich sense of practicality.
