Due to the plant tannins within the leather, exposure to air or sunlight gradually deepens its hue. The oils and patina from daily use and friction also contribute to an aged, lustrous finish. This allows items made from vegetable-tanned leather to develop unique character over time, reflecting the user's habits. Leather is a byproduct of the livestock industry. Therefore, farmers do not meticulously protect the animals' skin. During their lives, cattle may experience insect bites, scratches, or punctures. Free-roaming cattle might bear branding marks, and as they grow, their skin develops natural lines and wrinkles. In cases of difficult birth, a mother cow might have surgical scars. The process of skinning cattle for meat can also result in knife marks. These imperfections are faithfully preserved in the leather when it is processed, serving as proof of the animal's life journey. The resulting text will appear as a charred black mark. Therefore, this service cannot be applied to black, dark blue, or other dark-colored leathers. ▴ Some items require laser engraving before production. Laser engraving cannot be applied to ready-made stock items, requiring a separate production schedule. Please contact customer service for production timelines when selecting this service. 🌞 Care and Maintenance -------------------- Frequent use is the best form of maintenance. Avoid storing leather in humid environments. If the leather accidentally gets wet, wipe it immediately with a dry cloth and let it air dry in a cool, ventilated area. Do not expose it to direct sunlight, as this can cause the leather to harden and deteriorate. Once dry, you can apply leather conditioner to replenish its oils. You may also spray a waterproofing agent onto the surface to protect against everyday spills. For storage or long-term disuse, place the leather item in an electronic dehumidifying cabinet, maintaining humidity between 50%-60% to prevent mold. Alternatively, a sealed bag with a desiccant pack can achieve a similar effect. The product warranty is valid for one year from the date of purchase, during which time repairs and maintenance can be made at our store. Excluding human-induced damage, no repair fees will be charged. After one year, free leather maintenance services will still be provided, with a nominal fee for repairs. 5. Our studio prefers natural leather materials. Cowhide is not heavily processed or coated, so it may naturally exhibit variations in color, texture, and minor scratches. If a perfectly flawless surface is desired, it may be difficult to meet this expectation, and requests for "flawless leather surfaces" cannot be accommodated. Furthermore, once engraved or laser-etched, returns will not be accepted unless there was a production error.
