Block Lamp ice cube lamp Harri Koskinen works Nordic classic design

When it comes to Scandinavian contemporary design, no one will forget the ice cube lamp. It fully demonstrates the perfect fusion of glass craftsmanship, light changes and spiritual creativity, presenting the warmth of the bulb in the ice cube, and the strong contrast, which is unforgettable at a glance. Designer Harri Koskinen became famous because of this work, and at the time he was only a student of Helsinki University of the Arts. Anders Fardig, the founder of Design House Stockholm, a Swedish design company, was amazed by it. It took unimaginable work to mass-produce this work. The entire production is manual casting, and after a long cooling process, so as to ensure that the glass will not crack when the temperature changes suddenly. The thick glass must be clear, but it must also have the feeling of cracking of the ice cubes. At the same time, it must be able to withstand the temperature of the bulb without being hot, only a slight warmth can be revealed from the glass. These requirements are a big challenge to production. Not to mention the very precise ratio of length, width, and height to the craftsmanship, presenting the beauty of simplicity and neatness. It seems to symbolize the warmth that the Nordic people have been hoping for since they lived in the ice and snow for centuries, and the indescribable desire to use ice and light, heat and cold to meet. Today, the ice cube lamp is about to enter its thirtieth year. Designer Harri Koskinen is also an important representative of contemporary Nordic design. The timelessness of the ice cube lamp is still a moment in the minds of every Nordic design enthusiast. Choice. These ice cube lamps, which pay tribute to the original 1996 version, are the last products produced with tungsten filament bulbs. More advanced glass craftsmanship fully interprets the clear and translucent original design concept of the crystal ice cubes of the year. The box representing the white and snow color is cautious from the inside to the outside, and it is more meaningful to collect or give away. Ice cube light award record: In 1998, won the Swedish Excellent Design Award (Excellent Swedish Design) Received The Design Plus Design Award in 1998 In 1999, he won the special prize of Ambiente Show in Frankfurt, Germany In 1999, won the New York Accent Show Best New Product Award Acquired in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York in 2000 Product name: Block Lamp Original year: 1996 Material: artificial cast glass Dimensions: length 15.9 cm x width 10.2 cm x height 8.9 cm Cable length: 185 cm Weight (including packaging): 3.75 kg Contents: a pair of glass ice cubes, electric wires, bulbs (15 w), manuals, and one Taiwanese limited work light assembly Applicable bulb: 110V E12 Applicable voltage: 110V
