Soup mug spider

A large mug perfect for soups and cafe au lait. Produced by Tosen Gama in Kyoto Shimizu. This is the creator I met after PINT moved to Kyoto. From the potter's wheel molding to the painting, Mr. Taniguchi of the potter's wheel is consistently making it by himself, and it is a characteristic vessel making even in Shimizu ware. The soil used is Ninsei. Soil named after Ninsei Nonomura, a potter from the Edo period who is said to have completed Kyo-yaki pottery. It features fine intrusiveness, and the color painting stands out, giving it an elegance and taste. On the other hand, it is easy to crack when baked and difficult to handle. In addition to the instability of the potter's wheel during molding, it can be said that it cannot be fully utilized without painting techniques. It is often used for matcha bowls and tea utensils, and is rarely used for everyday tableware. During the many years of production by Mr. Taniguchi, he searched for various combinations of soil and painting, and arrived at Ninsei's soil. Unlike the teacup, this soup mug has no uneven edges. After unglazed, each piece is hand-painted. A rough painting that is glazed from the top of the painting and baked together. Along with the warmth unique to pottery, it features a unique transparency and softness of color. As a PINT original, it is made with a "spider" pattern. Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki refer to all vessels that are baked in Kyoto, so there is no clear definition of the material manufacturing method, and there are various vessels. Among them, the pottery of the pottery spring kiln is made with the aim of being a "Kyoto thing to use" while being packed with the culture and history of Kyoto, including the soil, shape, and painting. Light milky white and fine intrusive soil, rounded and uneven gentle texture, warm and soft color with underpainting. It has an elegant appearance, but it has a soft and light atmosphere that you can use everyday without hesitation.
