no.012 - Wood carving acorn pendant (B-13)

Shitamachi Lab's tiny wooden sculptures -wooden acorns- are designed and created to be "Art piece to carry around". Using arranged Japanese traditional wood lathe techniques, each and every items you see here is all-handmade. More than ten types of woods are used for our wooden acorn. We make many combinations of woods to enjoy pure color of woods and texture, and so it makes our acorns so unique. Tiny tiny acorns, 3.5cm (approx. 1.4inch) long, are carved and finished by artist's hand. As they are such small sculpture, its weight is so light that you might forget waring it, even most of them are made of hard and heavy woods. The body and the cap are strongly connected with tenon. You can ware them either everyday of special occasions. We selected one from unique wooden acorns, and arrange it to one-of-a-kind accessory. No.012 is a pendant using a special white acorn. The body and cap are made from white Maple wood, with a delicate carving on the cap. We selected a pink gold chain that matches well with acorn's white color. [ material & size ] Pendant: brass ( pink gold), 50cm chain length Acorn: Maple & Maple (oil finished), about 35mm high. It is simply finished to enjoy wood's color. You can enjoy its changes in the texture as well used with care. This is the one-of-a-kind item. You will have exact one you see in this page.
